Mamey Sapote

Florida is the only commercial US producer of mamey sapote — a football-shaped fruit with deep salmon-to-brick-red flesh that tastes of sweet potato, almond, and pumpkin pie. Pantin, Tazumal, Magaña, and Pace are the benchmark cultivars; season peaks April through August.
