Carambola (Starfruit)

South Florida grows some of the finest carambola in the world — the five-ribbed star shape and sweet-tart flavor are best on fully tree-ripened fruit. Arkin is the dominant Florida commercial cultivar; Fwang Tung and Kajang are preferred by growers for their larger size. Season peaks September through February.
